I&#8217;ve had the pleasure to design an internally used logo for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.apple.com\/nl\/retail\/haarlem\/\">apple Haarlem store.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>To design this logo I had a close look at all other store logo&#8217;s apple has created. Because these logos all follow a set of guidelines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Be recognisable. [The logo needs to be recognised as an apple logo as soon as you see it]<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Stay (mostly) within the lines. [To keep the shape of the apple, most logos stay within the lines oft original logo, or slightly outside of it.]<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Pay honer to the city. [There is an apple store in most of the biggest cities in the world. The logo for that store needs to represent the city that its in.]<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Honer to the history of Haarlem<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The store logo for <a href=\"http:\/\/www.madebykaran.com\/work\/apple-amsterdam\">Amsterdam<\/a> shows the characteristic houses of Amsterdam. The store logo of Barcelona shows the tiles designed by Gaud\u00ed that are seen throughout the city. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For the Apple Haarlem logo, the design also needs to honer the city of the store. So I took to the history of this city to see what would fit this logo. I decided on flowers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Haarlem is known as the flower city. Being close to many of the places where the world-famous dutch flowers get farmed. And being final city of the Flower Parade. There is a big history of flowers in this city, and that is definitely something worth to honer in a logo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The logo<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" src=\"https:\/\/tysedesign.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/Hello-Flower-City-Trans-1024x768.png\" alt=\"Apple Haarlem Logo\" class=\"wp-image-551\" srcset=\"https:\/\/tysedesign.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/Hello-Flower-City-Trans-1024x768.png 1024w, https:\/\/tysedesign.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/Hello-Flower-City-Trans-300x225.png 300w, https:\/\/tysedesign.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/Hello-Flower-City-Trans-768x576.png 768w, https:\/\/tysedesign.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/Hello-Flower-City-Trans-1536x1152.png 1536w, https:\/\/tysedesign.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/Hello-Flower-City-Trans-2048x1536.png 2048w, https:\/\/tysedesign.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/10\/Hello-Flower-City-Trans-16x12.png 16w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The final logo shows the beautiful spring flowers that are most often used in the flower parade. The color reflect the flowers themselves, and the local art of Haarlem.<br>Flowers are wild and will never be controlled fully, so of course they will grow, ever so slightly, out of the logo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The use<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The logo has been used for many internal events, posters, emails etc.<br>Unfortunately I am not able to show any of them for privacy and security reasons.
